Jenny was delighted to be invited to present at the SGIS Annual Conference 2023 (Swiss Group of International Schools) – March 24th and March 25th, Institut Florimont, Geneva. There was a fabulous speaker list on many different areas.
The Conference was built around the central theme of Connection with three sub-themes: Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) AND Sustainability AND Wellbeing.
Community and commitment to care – key for many SGIS schools. More aware of pressures young people face in complex world; want children successful but also happy at school. Schools working on growth mindset, strong relationships, promote respect and care for others, and give young tools to make the most of talents.
The conference took an individualised approach as delegates moved between sessions to build up their own individual schedule. They were each looking for information and ideas that inspired them to bring something positive back into their school and also concrete initiatives that they could put into action with their students.
Speakers presented several sessions over the two days. To fit with the Conference themes, Jenny’s presentations were as follows:
- Jenny Mosley Positive playtimes – a key to unlocking fitness, fun and friendships (Early Years and Primary)
- Jenny Mosley Staff wellbeing – putting our own wellbeing first so we have the energy to care for others (Early Years, Primary Secondary)
- Jenny Mosley Support Wellbeing and help children enjoy lessons by making FUN a priority (Early Years and Primary)
- Jenny Mosley Quality circle times for recovery, resilience and respectful relationships (Early Years, Primary and Secondary)
We look forward to hearing all about how the conference went when Jenny returns!
