Yesterday my perfect day happened… a necklace string of Golden Moments. Maisie my 18 year old great niece came away for a weekend with me in Swanage. She’s beautiful, full of life and up for fun. Firstly on Saturday morning we went horse riding. Miles of moorland turning to gold and orange in the autumn with the views of sparkly blue sea in the distance. So warm I took my jacket off. Emboldened we cantered a lot which was so exciting. Then exhilarated by our safe return we stopped off for some chilled champagne, toasted ourselves, then peeled off to our swimsuits and, yes, dear readers, yes… we swam in the freezing sea – very alone – with only slender yachts in the distance.
Then on with the big dressing gowns, cheese rolls and mugs of strong sweet tea and off to the charity shops. Back to our pretty little Air B&B, played scrabble and then danced to Bob Marley till midnight. My perfect day.
