Prior to the training week that I have just written about (31st Aug 2016 See it here) I also was invited by Beach with mountain the Nelson cluster an amazing team of 18 RTLBs headed up by their visionary, warm and very positive manager Lyn Evans. Her genuine, enthusiastic nature appears to be shared by each one in her team.
Honestly, from the moment they wrote to our office my journey with them has been incredibly professional, willing and energetic.
It was a real pleasure to finally meet them all. They created an inspirational programme which involved me working with many teachers… from those working in a small country school to those in a very large multicultural urban school to a middle school with year 8’s and 9’s. By choosing 3 such disparate venues they were able to ensure that a large range of teachers and teacher aides were ‘pulled in’ to the vision of whole school circle-time.
So healthy debate and discourse ensued and everyone started to relook at their whole school policies regarding listening, play, self-esteem, relationships and positive behaviour. Having been to each of their schools and worked with their children and young people teachers became inspired and enthusiastic… so the fourth day involved them choosing a beautiful venue where we all got together and shared our experiences and explored more thoroughly how my approach fits in with their PB4L vision.
Thank you to everyone for your warmth, hospitality, energy and sparkly positivity.
Quick Update since Jenny wrote this blog: Jenny received a lovely letter from Lyn Evans – here are a few lines from it. Thank you so much Lyn for taking the trouble to write!
Just to say that Jenny has delivered in Nelson most successfully over our 4 days!! As she was when I first met Jenny – dynamic, beautiful and her vision and presentation style are second none in the world!!
We have had thank yous from participants overnight and this morning. This tells everything as so often little comes back. Jenny has certainly spread her very special ‘Jenny star-dust’ across this region. Just wanted to say thanks. What an extraordinary lady!!!
