Written by a maestro of games Dale N le Fevre – it’s vibrant, fun and will jazz-up all gatherings! It may have a bit of an old -fashioned feel to it, but jewels of ideas sparkle amongst the black and white photos.

This is such an excellent book for helping to create and to continue to build healthy relationships at work. We used it at our children’s autism center at staff meetings and had a blast together! I highly recommend it for anyone in any field to help find ways to interact with your co-workers in positive ways.

I ordered the 2007 revised edition of this book, originally published in 1988, based on a newspaper article which recommended it as a source for non-competitive games where no one is a loser and kicked out of the active fun and opportunity to improve skills. I assumed it was for people who might be charged with children’s groups, either at school, in clubs, or organizing party games. I was surprised when it arrived that many of the games seem to be geared for adult groups (office parties, ice-breakers, community housing groups, but also for inter-generational groups, as one could find at church outings. Nevertheless, I gave it 5 stars, because there are many suggestions for adapting any particular game for special cases, such as for children, or groups of children and adults, players with mental or physical limitations – including the elderly. It will also work well for the family I intend to give it to as a gift, where the 6-year old daughter recently told her mother she should work less and learn to play more!

Have you ever watched a bunch of kids having a blast just being alive and wondered when you forgot how to play? Have you lost the wonder you used to have when learning new things? Is your days missing the “Isn’t life grand?” factor? if so, this is the book for you!! This guy not only gives us all permission to have fun, he even tells us why it’s good for us!! If he can teach the gear-heads at IBM how to embrace their inner child, he can certainly teach the rest of us. Highly recommended!!
