This class reader is a story about stories. Continuing the story of Olaf the giants’ child who ‘dances to a different drum’, we follow Olaf to meet two friends who want to become story makers instead of normal, grumpy, destructive giants. They fast discover that their stories need a little magic to be interesting and consult Wizard Jack. Using the strange ‘Turning Cloth’ they travel to seek the answer until they understand it’s really close at hand. An entertaining story with the opportunity to explore deeper themes of purpose v boredom, working to pursue our dreams and having help from our friends. It would provide a lovely starting point for a project on story making.
