Who are Jenny’s Working in School Days training suitable for?
Jenny Mosley’s Working in School Day is suitable for: Early Years, Primary and Secondary and all staff working in school, to be decided by the school or setting. The day can be influenced by the school. Some schools decide to introduce Jenny through an assembly where all staff and children are present. Or a subset of staff may be chosen to focus on particular aspects of Jenny’s day. For instance, teaching staff may observe the circle time and communication work
How a Working in School Day Works
Imagine a whole-staff training day where the school doesn’t have to close, so a precious INSET day is not used and no supply staff costs involved. For a Working in School Day, your consultant will arrive, observe the school, speak with staff, work with pupils in circles whilst observed by staff, be present at lunchtime and playtimes and hold feedback meetings with various staff groups at convenient times.
Your consultant will observe how your positive behaviour, incentives and sanctions, communications, emotional well-being and lunchtimes and playtimes systems are working and feedback invaluable information and suggestions for ways forward. Many schools find that a few precise tweaks is enough to set them on the path to excellence in learning.
A ‘Working in School Day’ (WISD) can be booked on its own or with a Closure (Inset) day to follow where the ideas and feedback can be taken to a much greater depth. The WISD can also be booked as part of a larger package. To see the themes for Working in School Days or Inset training days, see Early Years, Primary or Secondary training.
“Bursting with practical ideas, strategies and how to make them work!” Greg Donohue, Head of School, St Eugene de Mazenod School, Camden
“Jenny’s live demonstration was an absolute “masterclass” of how to engage young children through circle time. She had every single child completely entranced by her energy, enthusiasm and warmth; skilfully using puppets, actions, modelling, highly effective questioning promoting active participation at their level. Staff watched, mesmerised and enthralled and left the room eager to implement the strategies to children in their classes. Jane West, Deputy Headteacher, Orchard Infant School, Dibden Purlieu

“It was great to have Jenny Mosley in to work with our school and to provide such a positive experience for all who attended. There were so many good memories of the day and everyone spent the whole day smiling and feeling very positive about the job we do. One of the best things about the day was that the costs were so easily covered – all we needed was a little forward planning to get other schools involved.”
“For a very reasonable fee participants got access to a national speaker and an inspiring day. Opening out the event to the other schools across the county meant all our costs – Jenny’s fees and the catering costs – were completely covered – in fact, we had enough money left to buy a few hundred pounds worth of resources on the day! It was a very effective way to get what we needed for our school’s development and to ensure we could afford such an inspirational speaker.”
